Unemployment Insurance Auditor 1
The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development is dedicated to improving the well-being of all Minnesotans. The Unemployment Insurance Auditor 1 conducts reviews and examinations of employers' and workers’ records to ensure compliance with unemployment insurance laws and to verify the proper reporting of wages.

Responsibilities
Conducting reviews, as assigned, to determine employer liability under Minnesota Unemployment Insurance Law
Examining employers' and workers’ records to resolve employer liability and worker status issues so that benefit payments are accurately and promptly paid
Performing routine unemployment tax audits to verify the proper reporting of wages and ensure employer compliance
Communicating effectively with other employers, their representatives, and other UI Division staff
Qualification
Required
One (1) year of experience in customer service, including answering inquiries, explaining policies, and handling difficult conversations over the phone
Experience working with any of the following: financial records, record keeping, payroll, basic accounting, or auditing
Communication skills to work with diverse clientele
Analytical and critical thinking skills
Organizational skills with the ability to work independently
Experience with software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
Associate's degree or advanced in Accounting, Business Administration, or other closely related field as determined by the agency
Experience in Unemployment Insurance, including adjudication or determining eligibility for benefits
Experience in accounting or auditing
Preferred candidates will have a variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures
