Mechanical Engineer/Draftsperson

Alliance Group is seeking an entry-level, full-time Mechanical Engineer / HVAC Engineer / Draftsperson based in Essex Junction, VT to join our growing team. In this dual role, you will support the design and development of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, while creating technical drawings and plans using CAD software.

Responsibilities

Assist in designing and analyzing HVAC systems to ensure they meet both client needs and industry standards
Collaborate with senior engineers to evaluate system performance, energy efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
Prepare detailed HVAC system layouts, schematics, and other technical drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD software
Review and revise HVAC plans and drawings to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to building codes and regulations
Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems into overall building designs
Participate in design meetings and provide input on system design and improvements
Assist in reviewing contractor submittals and coordinating with vendors and suppliers for materials and equipment

Required

Bachelor's degree or Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Systems Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, building codes, and industry standards
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools)
Strong attention to detail and the ability to create accurate, high-quality technical drawings
Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new tools and techniques
A passion for engineering and a desire to grow in the HVAC field
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Ability to work efficiently
High level of reliability, follow-through, discretion, and integrity
Must possess proactive, positive problem-solving skills
Must be an energetic and enthusiastic collaborative team player
Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
Must maintain a company vehicle
U.S. citizenship or a current, valid U.S. work permit is mandatory
Applicants must have a valid, unrestricted driver's license
A background verification and motor vehicle check will be required
