Technical Project Manager – GCP Data Engineering (Retail)
PeopleLogic is seeking a Technical Project Manager with strong GCP Data Engineering expertise to lead and deliver complex data programs for a large retail client. This role involves technical delivery leadership, Agile execution, and client advisory responsibilities, requiring close collaboration with client stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives across 1–2 concurrent workstreams
Partner with Product Owners and Tech Leads on backlog grooming, estimation, and prioritization
Track delivery progress, manage dependencies, and proactively mitigate risks
Maintain delivery discipline while preventing scope creep and protecting team focus
Serve as a trusted thought partner to client stakeholders across business and technology
Facilitate discussions on priorities, trade-offs, and delivery governance
Navigate and align multiple client stakeholders and vendor partners
Bring relevant SMEs and thought leadership into client discussions when appropriate
Oversee delivery of GCP-based data engineering solutions, including data pipelines, platforms, and analytics foundations
Collaborate closely with Solution Architects to understand architecture, design decisions, risks, and mitigation plans
Translate business objectives into scalable, executable delivery plans
Develop and maintain project plans, RACI matrices, risk logs, and daily/weekly progress trackers
Foster a culture of accountability, psychological safety, and continuous improvement
Identify and unblock risks early technical, delivery, or organizational
Coach delivery team members and client contributors on Agile best practices and delivery excellence
Qualification
Required
Strong experience as a Technical Project Manager / Delivery Manager in data engineering programs
Hands-on understanding of GCP data engineering ecosystems (BigQuery, data pipelines, cloud data platforms, etc.)
Proven experience working directly with enterprise clients in highly visible roles
Strong Agile delivery experience (Scrum / SAFe / hybrid Agile models)
Experience managing distributed delivery teams across geographies
Preferred
Retail domain experience (strongly preferred)
Experience working in multi-vendor delivery environments
Prior experience in consulting or advisory roles
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills
