Responsibilities
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Systems, Software, AEH, and Cybersecurity Design Assurance
Review and approve software/AEH lifecycle data for internal development and supplier programs (may act as company DER , if delegated)
Execute System Design Assurance Reviews in alignment with ARP4754A/ARP4761
Lead supplier oversight and design assurance reviews for compliance with:
ARP4754A/ARP4761
DO-178C (and supplements)
DO-254
Support cybersecurity process approvals with certification authorities
Support creation and independent review of development and verification processes
Drive continuous improvement of certification and design assurance processes
Interface with FAA DERs and certification authorities for planning, coordination, and compliance reviews
Track findings/issues through closure across design assurance activities
Qualification
Required
15+ years of experience in aerospace certification/design assurance (systems + software/AEH)
BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
Strong full lifecycle experience with safety-critical development and compliance standards
Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills
Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-expectation environments
Experience with agile/lean development practices
Preferred
SW/AEH DER authorization
Tool Qualification experience (DO-330)
Model-Based Development & Verification (DO-331)
Cybersecurity certification experience (DO-326/DO-356, DO-355)
Aircraft OEM development experience
Familiarity with tools such as Polarion, Collaborator, Git/Bitbucket, TeamCity, Jira, Teamcenter
