Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain relational database structures and schemas in Azure SQL Databases
Create and optimize T-SQL queries, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers for performance and maintainability
Support data integration and migration efforts, ensuring data accuracy and consistency
Work closely with application developers to ensure efficient database interaction and design
Build, manage, and optimize data pipelines and ETL workflows using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Microsoft Fabric
Integrate data from multiple sources including APIs, flat files, customer databases, and cloud services
Implement data transformation, cleansing, and enrichment processes to support customer import data
Design and implement Power BI reports and dashboards that deliver actionable business insights
Collaborate with the Product Team to define report visualization requirements
Integrate and support Tableau dashboards and ensure alignment with enterprise reporting standards
Leverage Microsoft Fabric for unified data access, governance, and analytics delivery
Analyze database and query performance, recommending and implementing tuning improvements
Manage indexing strategies, query plans, and resource utilization within Azure SQL
Troubleshoot slow-running queries, deadlocks, and resource bottlenecks using tools like Query Store and Azure Monitor
Work cross-functionally with engineering/development and product teams to deliver high-impact solutions
Participate in code reviews and enforce database development best practices
Mentor junior developers and contribute to establishing data engineering standards
Qualification
Required
7+ years of professional database development experience
4+ years working with Azure SQL Database and Azure Data Factory
Strong proficiency in T-SQL, including complex stored procedures, triggers, and performance tuning
Hands-on experience implementing Power BI solutions using Microsoft Fabric
Familiarity with Tableau for enterprise reporting and visualization
Proven ability to design scalable data models and optimize for analytical workloads
Experience with ETL orchestration and automation using ADF
Familiarity with DevOps CI/CD for database development (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication and collaboration across technical and business teams
Detail-oriented and committed to quality, scalability, and performance
Ability to work independently while contributing to a larger team effort
