Responsibilities
Monitoring security alerts and logs from SIEM tools and endpoint protection systems
Assisting in investigating potential security incidents and escalating as appropriate
Ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures
Supporting vulnerability management by tracking and remediating identified risks
Monitoring servers, networks, and applications to ensure optimal performance, security, and uptime
Performing routine maintenance tasks, including patching and updates
Responding to and resolving technical issues related to hardware, software, and network systems
Working within a ticketing system to escalate complex issues to senior engineers
Providing Tier 1/Tier 2 support for internal users, including account management and access control
Identifying opportunities to improve processes and contribute to automation initiatives
Working closely with IT Security, Network, and Application teams to ensure compliance and operational efficiency
Qualification
Required
Associate's or bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience
4+ years of combined experience in IT operations and Security
Knowledge of common security tools (SIEM, antivirus, endpoint protection), monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and IT security best practices
Windows and/or Linux server environments
Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Experience maintaining accurate documentation of systems, processes, and troubleshooting steps
Preferred
Familiarity with SIEM tools (Splunk, Sentinel, etc.) and experience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) is a plus
Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus
IT certifications (CompTIA Network+, Security+, ISC2 CC, or Microsoft certifications) are a plus
