Mechanical Project Manager

Metric DCX is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager with strong data center construction experience to manage and deliver mechanical scopes on complex, mission-critical projects. Responsibilities

Manage all mechanical aspects of data center construction projects throughout the full project lifecycle
Lead mechanical project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control efforts
Coordinate closely with owners, designers, commissioning agents, and trade partners to ensure successful project execution
Oversee mechanical subcontractors, procurement activities, submittals, RFIs, and change management
Ensure mechanical systems (HVAC, hydronic, plumbing, process cooling, etc.) are installed in accordance with design documents, codes, and quality standards
Support preconstruction activities, including estimating, constructability reviews, and scope development
Collaborate with electrical, structural, and civil teams to ensure integrated project delivery
Monitor project risks and proactively resolve issues impacting cost, schedule, or quality
Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and site-specific requirements
Support commissioning, turnover, and closeout activities to ensure successful system performance and client satisfaction

Required

5–10+ years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on mechanical systems
Data center or mission-critical construction experience strongly preferred
Experience working for a general contractor, mechanical contractor, or owner/operator
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, chilled water, hydronic systems, and related controls
Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and multiple project priorities
Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with project management and construction software (Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, etc.)

Preferred

Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Experience supporting hyperscale or large-scale data center programs
Professional certifications such as PMP, LEED, or equivalent (a plus, not required)
