Responsibilities
Greet and assist Veterans in a professional and compassionate manner
Measure vital signs, assist with exams, draw blood samples, and conduct basic diagnostic testing
Answer and screen phone calls, take messages, and direct inquiries appropriately
Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments and testing
Perform preliminary patient registration and update demographic information
Maintain accurate medical records, files, and documentation
Prepare correspondence, reports, and clerical documentation
Maintain inventory and order clinical and office supplies
Support compliance with HIPAA and all federal, state, and local regulations
Act professionally with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with the care team
Qualification
Required
Medical Assistant diploma required
Active BLS certification through the American Heart Association
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Excellent customer service skills; compassionate and team-oriented
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Punctual and dependable
Preferred
Associate degree in Medical Assisting or graduation from an accredited MA program
Current and unrestricted Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification (if required by state)
Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience (Primary Care, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Occupational Health, or Urgent Care)
