Responsibilities
Prepare the annual operating budget and quarterly forecasts in partnership with the Site General Manager
Maintain forecast accuracy within ±5%
Analyze KPIs and plant initiatives to identify growth and cost-saving opportunities
Partner with commercial leaders to validate revenue assumptions
Simplify and improve budgeting and reporting processes
Clearly communicate financial and non-financial performance indicators
Identify key business drivers and support improvement action plans
Track and support cost-reduction initiatives
Partner with site leadership on long-range capital planning
Support evaluation and financial justification of capital projects
Develop an understanding of competitive strengths and weaknesses
Oversee internal controls and remediation activities
Ensure compliance with company policies and approval authorities
Safeguard site assets and ensure accurate financial reporting
Balance strong financial controls with operational efficiency
Drive process improvements through system and IT enhancements
Analyze customer and product profitability
Identify margin erosion and improvement opportunities
Facilitate discussions to improve margin through pricing, volume, or operational changes
Perform month-end close activities within the ERP system
Review daily job costing and resolve reporting issues
Validate WIP, finished goods, and raw material balances
Review journal entries and P&L classifications
Support inventory counts and reconciliations
Monitor inventory, receivables, and payables
Support initiatives to improve working capital and cash flow
Conduct benchmarking against comparable facilities
Prepare presentations for leadership and plant visits
Support additional financial analysis as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
5+ years of experience in manufacturing or plant-level finance
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills
Advanced Excel proficiency
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, onsite environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
MBA or CMA
Experience in pulp & paper or similar manufacturing environments
Experience with large capital projects
Familiarity with Hyperion SmartView and/or Qlik Cloud
