Senior Nuclear Scientist
Kalman & Company is seeking to hire an experienced Senior Nuclear Scientist. This role involves operations, set-up, calibration, diagnostics, and inventory of radiological instrumentation and materials, as well as advising government clients on radiological instrumentation employment and conducting radiological analysis.

Operations, set-up, calibration, diagnostics, and inventory of radiological instrumentation and materials
Advise the government client on radiological instrumentation employment and results analysis
Conduct radiological analysis, including report generation and presentation to senior leadership
Qualification
Required
US Citizenship is required
Advanced degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physics or Health Physics
Minimum 5 years airborne gamma measurements
Minimum 2 years of gamma spectroscopy experience in a laboratory or similar setting
Experience with MCNP or similar codes, calculations for MDA of airborne spectrometers or other similar analyses
Experience in gamma spectroscopic analysis of uranium, thorium and series progeny
Strong analytical, report writing, and presentation skills
Ability to travel to support emergency response missions as necessary (minimal travel)
Preferred
Located near the Addison, TX area
Three to five years of experience in nuclear instrumentation quality assurance
Previous or current training in DOT shipping requirements for radioactive material
Spectroscopic experience with scintillators (NaI, LaBr) and solid-state detectors
Familiarity with secular equilibrium and its effects on spectral analysis
