Responsibilities
Market, underwrite, and price new Middle Market Commercial business in accordance with underwriting guidelines and authority
Analyze risk exposures, coverage needs, pricing, and terms to ensure profitable underwriting decisions
Develop, evaluate, and interpret financial, operational, and loss history information to assess account acceptability
Work closely with producers to solicit new business, manage renewals, and strengthen agency relationships
Conduct regular agency visits to support business development, retention, and portfolio growth
Manage an assigned book of business while achieving production, retention, and loss ratio targets
Monitor market conditions and competitive trends to identify new opportunities and maintain underwriting discipline
Qualification
Required
3 - 10+ years of experience underwriting Middle Market Commercial insurance
Strong knowledge of commercial coverages, pricing, and risk evaluation
Proven ability to manage a profitable book of business and work collaboratively with producers
Excellent analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills
Preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred
