HRIS Supervisor
Wright Service Corp. is a prominent leader in several environmental services industries, providing integrated vegetation management and technology solutions. The HRIS Supervisor provides leadership and guidance to a team of HRIS Analysts, ensuring the effective operation and optimization of the Workday platform while supporting strategic initiatives that enhance HR technology capabilities across the organization.
Responsibilities
Assign and prioritize work to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of Workday system support and enhancements
Oversee the development, maintenance, and accuracy of Workday reports and dashboards, ensuring stakeholders have timely and reliable data to support decision‑making
Maintain deep, up‑to‑date knowledge of Workday functionality—specifically Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence—and apply best practices across all supported modules
Oversee configuration changes, testing, and documentation to ensure compliance and data integrity
Lead configuration and troubleshooting efforts within Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence, partnering closely with Payroll and HR teams to address issues and optimize processes
Monitor and improve HRIS processes to increase efficiency and user experience
Ensure HRIS processes and configurations adhere to organizational policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards
Manage Workday security role assignments and periodic access reviews to maintain a secure system environment
Support issue resolution and escalate complex challenges as needed
Lead or assist with Workday-related projects, including new functionality rollouts, system upgrades, and module optimization
Coordinate testing and training activities to ensure successful deployments
Serve as a point of contact for HR, Payroll, and other business partners regarding system capabilities and enhancements
Provide guidance and training to end-users to maximize system adoption
Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright’s culture of safety and employee ownership
Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintain knowledge of and follow all company policies and procedures
Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings
Supervise and coach the HRIS Analysts; including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and professional development
Foster collaboration among the HRIS team
Qualification
Required
Periodic on-site work in West Des Moines, Iowa
Ability to quickly learn new responsibilities, adapt to change, and effectively prioritize tasks
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Willingness to work outside normal business hours as needed to meet deadlines
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment
Strong familiarity with Workday reporting tools, calculated fields, and business processes—especially within Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence
Commitment to high professional and ethical standards in all responsibilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with effective interpersonal abilities
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently to perform job duties and communicate effectively with employees and vendors
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field
5+ years of HRIS experience with hands-on Workday system administration
Demonstrated experience supporting Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence
Experience supporting multiple Workday modules
Preferred
Candidates located in the Midwest—such as the Des Moines metro, Minneapolis–St. Paul, Kansas City, Chicago, or similar regional areas—are preferred, or must be willing to relocate
Workday certification or advanced module experience
Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred
Driver's license, CDL, pesticide or herbicide license, CPR or first-aid certified
