Keystone Recruitment is seeking an experienced Python Backend Developer with AI expertise to join their customer’s team. This remote role involves backend development, API design, and testing AI models to enhance developer workflows.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize REST and GraphQL endpoints for scalable backend services
Implement data validation, error handling, and API security best practices
Plan and execute database migrations, optimizations, and schema changes
Test new AI-powered models in Cursor during intensive 4-day evaluation bursts
Provide structured feedback on model performance via bug reports, incident logs, and screenshots
Collaborate with the research team through dedicated Slack channels to discuss improvements
Submit post-burst surveys detailing insights on AI model behavior and developer experience

Required

5+ years of professional backend development experience with Python
Strong proficiency in building and maintaining RESTful and GraphQL APIs

Extensive experience using AI-assisted coding tools; familiarity with Cursor is highly desirable
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for precise incident reporting and documentation
Ability to thrive in fast-paced, confidential, and remote collaborative environments

Preferred

Public contributions to open-source projects (e.g., GitHub stars, forks, or commits)
Experience designing or evaluating experimental tooling and developer workflows
Strong interest and enthusiasm for AI innovations in software development
