The role involves preparing plans from provided engineering sketches, with an emphasis on traffic design for State and Local Departments of Transportation.
Civil Engineering
Responsibilities
Transfer engineering sketches and details to plans utilizing AutoCAD and Microstation
Makes basic engineering computations and prepares and revises specifications
Make quality control corrections to contract drawings
Prepare exhibits for reports, public meetings or presentations
Prepares full construction package plan sets for various DOTs and local agencies
Perform other related duties as assigned
Assist in field reviews of project design sites
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Enrolled in or recently obtained College level engineering degree
Proficient in AutoCAD C3D and Microstation V8i and/or ORD drafting platforms
Knowledge of design and drafting procedures for DOTs
Traffic Design experience in Traffic Signal design
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred
Technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting
Ability to obtain EI licensure within 4 years
