Responsibilities
Act as the technical authority supporting outside sales representatives and key accounts
Participate in pre-sales engineering for bids, projects, and negotiated accounts
Review customer drawings, specifications, and application requirements
Provide technical explanations and recommendations to support sales decisions
Support pricing strategy through accurate material selection and cost inputs
Evaluate insulation applications based on temperature, equipment geometry, environment, and service conditions
Perform heat loss calculations and insulation thickness recommendations
Conduct thermal performance analysis to support energy efficiency and compliance goals
Select appropriate insulation cores, fabrics, finishes, and fastening systems
Interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and customer specifications
Assist with custom designs for removable insulation systems
Work closely with manufacturing and operations to ensure design feasibility and accurate builds
Support order handoff with detailed technical documentation
Assist with troubleshooting installation or performance issues
Provide internal technical guidance to sales and operations teams
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of experience in industrial insulation, applications engineering, or technical sales
Experience performing heat loss calculations and insulation design analysis
Strong understanding of high-temperature insulation systems and materials
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Removable insulation blankets or engineered insulation systems
Fiberglass fabrics, non-wovens, composites, or thermal textiles
Industrial markets such as petrochemical, refining, power generation, or manufacturing
