Responsibilities

Interpret and apply employment laws, regulations, policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), directives, union memorandums of understanding (MOU), etc
Perform extensive research on behavior, performance, and conduct issues in the workplace to determine the most appropriate course of action
Prepare detailed documents for disciplinary and/or corrective actions, up to and including terminations
Provide guidance to employees and management on employee relations, performance management, and policy compliance
Provide training on various employee relations topics; and
Review and track a wide variety of employment actions in multiple systems and databases

Required

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate
Six years of experience in administrative staff or professional work
Three (3) years of direct, professional employee relations experience, including conducting workplace investigations; preparing and administering disciplinary or corrective actions; or preparing and presenting cases on behalf of management in formal hearings (e.g. grievance, appeal, or similar proceeding)
Applicants must possess a Driver's License valid in the State of Maryland
