Responsibilities
Architectural Ownership: Design and develop the ideal backend system architecture to handle complex data workflows and real-time intelligence
Infrastructure Optimization: Squeeze peak performance out of services running on GCP and DBT
Product Strategy: Engage directly with customers to identify pain points and translate them into technical roadmaps
Lead by Example: Write clean, maintainable code in Python/Django while mentoring the broader engineering team on best practices
Qualification
Required
6+ years of professional full-time experience building complex backend systems
Deep proficiency in Python, Django, PostgreSQL, GCP, and DBT
Preferred
Ideally, you've cut your teeth at high-growth startups (e.g., Glean, Rippling, Toast, Square) and hold a strong technical degree or competitive programming background (ICPC/IOI)
While your heart is in the backend, you have enough React/Frontend exposure to understand the full stack and collaborate effectively
You start with the 'why' of the business before deciding on the 'how' of the code. You are motivated by moving the needle for customers, not just moving data
