Responsibilities
Develops and implements a long-term plan for the EHS function with minimal supervision
Oversees safety programs related to bulk chemical operations, corrosives, high‑hazard materials, GHS‑classified substances, and BSL‑2 biological materials
Partners with R&D and manufacturing teams to evaluate new materials, processes, and equipment
Promotes continuous improvement in the EHS function, integrating tactical & strategic EHS planning
Serves as a senior technical resource on biosafety, chemical safety, and general safety compliance
Qualification
Required
10+ years progressive experience in EHS within a manufacturing environment including R&D and laboratories
4+ years Biosafety experience including experience with BSL 2 materials or higher
Safety experience within chemical or pharmaceutical setting
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, EHS or related fields
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage others
2+ years supervisory experience
Preferred
CSP or CIH preferred
