Responsibilities
Work with internal information customers and external vendors to research, request pricing, prepare and review bids/pricing, prepare purchase orders, track orders, mark orders as received, and respond to billing inquiries
Analyze, evaluate, refine and improve purchasing processes, including strategies and procedures that will result in cost savings, improved service levels and effective inventory management
Manage the scoping, acquisition and implementation of new automated purchasing and asset management systems
Manage strategic supplier relationships. Ensure continued relevance and value of vendors
Develop metrics to measure performance, efficiency and cost savings related to the procurement process
Monitor compliance with software licensing terms and agreements
Work with Finance on asset management methods and processes
Qualification
Required
BA or BS degree
5 years' experience in purchasing required, including experience working with automated purchasing systems
Significant process improvement experiences, including the ability to analyze, evaluate, refine and improve purchasing systems, taking them to the next level
Strategic thinking, influencing, project management, problem solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work in a group or solo on projects with little to no supervision
Ability to produce timely deliverables and manage multiple and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment
Strong customer service orientation, team player with ability to establish collaborative working relationships
Preferred
Experience with the entire procurement and asset management life cycle in a mid to large-sized company preferred
