Facilities Coordinator

USAJOBS is seeking a Facilities Coordinator to join the Fleet and Family Readiness Support Services Division at Commander, Navy Installations Command in Millington, TN. The incumbent will oversee routine maintenance services, repairs, and general upkeep for the Lassen Building #457 and other facilities operated by FFRSS N94.

Responsibilities

Reports, tracks and coordinates trouble calls and all work requests for Lassen Building #457 and follows up until items are completed
Processes non-service calls, work requests for Public Works action, estimates costs, funds and serves as one of the POCs/Liaison that tracks/inspect upon completion
Performs various, minor in-house repairs to save service calls in order to reduce costs and expedite repairs
Perform daily facility and ground inspections
Serves as Building Energy Monitor, Building Fire Warden, CNIC Evacuation Coordinator, Safety Representative, Hazardous Material Coordinator, and Solid Waste Coordinator, PII Coordinator for the building and Storage custodian at Building 242
Functions as the Lassen Building point of contact for telephone services with NSA Mid-South
Responsible for checking in/out NAF vehicles under N94 responsibility
Maintains internal key control as directed by CNIC N94 Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Responsible for the movement of personnel, furniture and equipment into new spaces/locations throughout the building
Assists in coordinating refurbishment of office spaces and responsible for installation of cubicles
Assists with the disposition of any and all excess furniture and equipment, prepares all transfer documents for furniture and equipment going to the Defense Reutilization Marketing Office (DRMO)
Attends Installation Facility meetings, design review and pre-construction meetings as required
Ensure all safety regulations and procedures are in place and always followed
Serves as the Safety and Hazardous Material Representative for CNIC HQ Millington
Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for facility and equipment
Advises OPS Support Group Manager concerning the annual maintenance budget, maintenance cost and purchases of major equipment, and the advantages or disadvantages of contract versus in-house performance of specific maintenance and repair operations
Responsible for devising and implementing PM (preventive maintenance) programs for the Lassen Building
Collaborate with other facility managers to develop and implement best practices for facility management
Develops and coordinates policy for the NAF Vehicle and Equipment Program worldwide, inclusive of ships, other afloat commands, and other NAF organizations
Assigns USN numbers and distributes vehicle and equipment license plates
Maintain vehicle and equipment data in current government database
Assists in the coordination of the Fleet Credit Card
Obtain vehicle price quotes and place vehicle orders utilizing GSA "Auto Chocie"
Assist with personal property disposition for F&FR Programs. Acts as the coordinator for actions with the regional DRMO
Performs cost benefit analysis and/or programmatic trade-off analyses for exploring feasibility of cost saving opportunities. Analyses would be presented to management
Communicates with field activities, regional staff, NAVFAC, headquarters staff and higher authority by telephone, in writing and by electronic means
Conducts inventories and reordering. Handles disposition of excess furniture and equipment
Acts as back-up with mailroom functions when the need arises

Required

Must pass all applicable records and background check
Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment
Must have and be able to maintain a valid U.S. Driver's License
Must be currently employed within the hiring agency; Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC), Non-appropriated Funds (NAF)
A master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher-level education leading to such a degree, or a LL. B. or J.D., if related
At least 2 years of specialized experience coordinating and managing maintenance services, repairs, and/or general upkeep of a facility
A combination of education and specialized experience
Knowledge of DoD and Navy building codes, regulations, bylaws and policies
Knowledge of building construction and maintenance procedures
Knowledge of HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems
Knowledge of when to contact tradespersons to complete a task or repair
Knowledge of inspection procedures
Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures and knowledge of record keeping systems
Knowledge of NAF policies and procedures
Knowledge of CNIC's organizational structure, functions, and mission
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
