Lead Human Resources Specialist (Compensation and Benefits)
USAJOBS is seeking a Lead Human Resources Specialist (Compensation and Benefits) to provide a full range of management and administrative services in support of the Division's mission. The role includes training HR specialists, overseeing pay and benefits processing, and providing policy interpretations.

Responsibilities
Provides informal training and mentoring to assigned HR Specialists and reviews their completed work
Provides policy interpretation and advisory assistance to the Assistant Director (AD) and, as directed, throughout the Division regarding annual, sick, military, and court leave, as well as Family and Medical Leave Act laws, regulations, issues, granting/accrual, use, and practices
Oversees processing of pay, benefits, and leave including corrections, as necessary
Serves as the Division's Assistant Agency Security Officer (AASO) to liaise with the National Finance Center, effect manual payments, and request NFC's direct involvement on pay and leave matters
Conducts review and analysis of indebtedness issues. Reviews analysis prepared by specialists to make recommendations to the AD regarding compensation for indebtedness waivers or denials
Qualification
Required
You must be a United States Citizen or National
You will be required to complete a suitability review
You must be a current permanent Department of Justice employee with competitive status or a CTAP/RPL eligible candidate
You must meet all applicable time-in-grade requirements by the closing of this announcement

If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level as listed in the qualifications below
Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF-50
To qualify for the GS-14 Lead Human Resources Specialist (Compensation and Benefits) position, you must demonstrate that you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the federal service performing such duties as: advising managers on time and attendance, leave and benefits issues; overseeing the processing of pay, benefits, and leave actions; conducting an analysis of indebtedness issues; providing mentoring and guidance to employees
