Own architecture decisions, delivery standards, estimation methodology, and definition of done
Ensure projects land on scope, timeline, and margin
Act as senior technical authority in complex or high-risk client engagements
Increase billable capacity without burnout
Reduce rework, overruns, and escalations
Enable the same team to deliver materially more revenue
Create clarity and accountability without bureaucracy
Identify skill gaps and guide hiring strategy (not hands-on recruiting)
Lead through standards, not micromanagement
Serve as final technical decision-maker
Absorb escalations before they reach the CEO
Remove the founder as a daily technical backstop
Support presales with solution architecture, scoping, and risk identification
Lead technical discovery sessions when required
Continuously improve estimation accuracy and delivery predictability
Qualification
Required
Experience within a Shopify Partner
Ability to own architecture decisions, delivery standards, estimation methodology, and definition of done
Accountability for technical outcomes across the business from presales validation through delivery execution, margin protection, and scalability
Act as senior technical authority in complex or high-risk client engagements
Increase billable capacity without burnout
Reduce rework, overruns, and escalations
Enable the same team to deliver materially more revenue
Create clarity and accountability without bureaucracy
