Automation and OT Systems Engineer
Confidential company is seeking an experienced Automation and OT Systems Engineer to manage and support PLC programs and OT network devices. The role involves driving process standardization, managing documentation, and ensuring efficient operations of OT systems across different plants.
Responsibilities
Provide ongoing support for OT devices and ensure minimal downtime. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in PLC and Ignition systems. Update ServiceNow with ticket details and resolutions
Manage and maintain OT network devices, including PLCs, SCADA systems, switches, and routers
Implement and manage source control for PLC programs using tools like Copia, Versiondog, or Asset Centre. Create repositories for PLC programs, manage versioning, and ensure proper branching and merging for collaborative work
Standardize processes related to OT network devices. Create detailed documentation for all processes and ensure they align with best practices
Develop and build tags to support Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) data collection
Update PLC programs to collect and process relevant OEE-related data
Lead the process of standardizing tag naming conventions for future PLC simulation tools
Establish clear naming standards to improve consistency, scalability, and debugging efficiency across simulations
Conduct a comprehensive assessment of PLC systems at the Shippensburg plant. Identify areas for improvement and recommend potential upgrades
Collaborate with plant leaders for prioritization and system enhancements
Qualification
Required
Expertise in PLC systems (including programming and source control management)
Ignition SCADA
network devices (PLCs, SCADA systems, routers, and switches)
Proven experience in OT systems support and troubleshooting
Managing large-scale PLC environments
Implementing process standardization
Ability to work closely with plant leaders to assess and prioritize projects
Strong capability to create and maintain process documentation, ensuring alignment with industry best practices
Preferred
Familiarity with OEE systems and the ability to develop tags to support data collection and analysis
Familiarity with Copia, Versiondog, or Asset Centre for managing PLC programs and version control is a plus but not required
