This role focuses on backend systems, partnering with Product, Program, and Engineering teams to develop solutions that support restaurant operations.

Responsibilities
Plan, design, and develop robust, maintainable, and reusable backend code to support configuration, deployment, monitoring, performance, scalability, availability, security, and alerting across test, integration, and production environments
Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test cases and deployment procedures
Design, prototype, and build solutions with a strong delivery mindset; lead by example through hands-on development
Understand business, stakeholder, and technical requirements and assist in analyzing existing solutions to meet those needs
Contribute to the creation of simple, modular, and extensible functional designs aligned with defined requirements
Assess gaps, updates, and modifications between business expectations and existing products or solutions
Analyze defects from past projects to prevent recurrence of similar issues
Lead and uphold industry engineering standards; contribute to their continuous improvement and actively participate in communities of practice
Demonstrate an operational mindset by supporting and ensuring the reliability of systems and solutions within your scope
Maintain a customer-focused approach, considering both engineering teams and business users when developing features
Apply test-driven development principles with a strong focus on quality and system reliability
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering discipline (preferably Computer Science) or equivalent experience
4+ years of professional experience delivering high-quality software, ideally across the full stack
Strong proficiency in an object-oriented programming language, such as Java
Proven experience with Java and the Spring Boot framework
Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures
Experience with automated testing at all levels (unit, integration, regression, load)
Familiarity with messaging technologies and patterns (Kafka, SQS)
Experience with modern CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure tools (GitHub CI/CD, Terraform)
Familiarity with operational tools, logging, and metrics (e.g., New Relic, Splunk)
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
Strong verbal and written communication skills
