Responsibilities
Plans, develops, coordinates and reviews plant design and piping engineering work on a medium size project or assignment in support of a global business unit
Develops conceptual designs for plant design and piping projects or projects having specialized or unique requirements
Examines and analyzes pipe configurations for ANSI/ASME code compliance . Interprets new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data
Optimizes facility layout based on piping and instrument diagrams, client requirements, current technology, and operational and maintenance requirements
Provides the technical input to meet procurement requirements
Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and supports implementation and assists with performance reporting
Reviews and approves key design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders, for the project to which assigned
Mentors plant design and piping personnel by providing on-the-job training for their professional development . Provides input to and participates in special technical educational and training programs as directed
Examines and analyzes pipe configurations for ANSI/ASME code compliance
Optimizes facility layout based on piping and instrument diagrams, client requirements, current technology, and operational and maintenance requirements
Qualification
Required
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Must have the right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship
Willingness to travel and/or relocate to jobsite in support of projects
Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the discipline of Plant Design & Piping (PD&P)
Extensive knowledge and experience related to development of conceptual layouts (space coordination) of equipment and piping complex routing systems for a large industrial manufacturing facility
Relevant working experience in industrial High Purity piping designs and layouts, with broad knowledge of applicable industry standards and acceptable design practices
Experience developing, managing and maintaining BIM Models with defined LOD specifications for the engineering discipline of PD&P
Proficient knowledge on planning, application and coordination of 2-D and 3-D modeling tools: AutoCad Revit and Navisworks
Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved and current knowledge of new methods of design and construction
Skill in oral and written communication
Demonstrated skill in supervision
Preferred
Prior work experience and responsibility for the supervision on a medium or major size project in engineering management at Bechtel
Knowledge of Bechtel Engineering Department Procedures
Module project experience is a plus
Experience in coordinating with global execution teams and offices
Prior experience in planning and executing greenfield or brownfield projects in one or more of the following market segments: Semiconductor, Electric Vehicle, Battery, or Data Center
