Compensation Consultant
TAG - The Aspen Group is one of the largest retail healthcare business support organizations in the U.S., dedicated to improving healthcare experiences. They are seeking a Compensation Consultant to support and execute core compensation programs, partnering with HR and Talent Acquisition to inform pay decisions and manage compensation processes independently.
Responsibilities
Serve as a primary compensation point of contact for assigned business groups, partnering closely with HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition on job evaluations, market pricing, and offer recommendations
Independently conduct market benchmarking using third-party survey data to support hiring, promotion, and retention decisions
Apply compensation guidelines and judgment to ensure pay decisions align with TAG’s compensation philosophy, internal equity, and external competitiveness
Support and maintain job architecture and leveling frameworks, providing guidance on job alignment and role placement
Lead recurring and ad hoc compensation analyses, including internal equity assessments, compression analysis, and pay variance reviews
Develop and interpret compensation models to support business scenarios and leadership requests
Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for HR and business stakeholders
Play a key execution role in annual merit and bonus cycles, including planning support, system configuration, data validation, testing, and issue resolution
Administer compensation programs in Workday Advanced Compensation with a high degree of accuracy and ownership
Ensure compensation data integrity through audits, reconciliations, and ongoing governance practices
Support the administration and analysis of incentive and variable compensation programs; experience with sales or performance-based pay is preferred
Provide analytical and administrative support for executive and leadership compensation programs, as needed
Collaborate closely with Finance, HRIS, Payroll, Legal, and Talent teams to ensure compensation programs are aligned, compliant, and operationally sound
Support compensation activities related to organizational changes, restructures, or integrations
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance compensation tools, reporting, documentation, and manager education
Respond to compensation-related audits, inquiries, and compliance requests with increasing independence
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
2–3 years of progressive compensation experience, demonstrating increasing ownership and independent decision-making
Proven experience supporting job architecture, job leveling, or career framework initiatives
Strong analytical and technical skills, including advanced Excel proficiency (complex formulas, modeling, and data analysis)
Hands-on experience administering compensation programs in Workday, including Advanced Compensation; power-user experience strongly preferred
Experience using compensation survey tools such as PayScale, PayFactors, Mercer, Radford, Willis Towers Watson, or similar platforms
Experience supporting annual compensation cycles and managing large, complex compensation datasets
Strong business judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Ability to communicate compensation concepts confidently and clearly to HR partners and stakeholders
