Responsibilities

Consume internal APIs and endpoints
Define required vs. optional API fields, including data types (boolean, string, number, array) and regex patterns
Execute API calls using test data in staging environments to validate requests/responses
Handle API errors and design user experience responses for failure scenarios
Coordinate with architects to request necessary role-based API permissions
Ensure permissions are granted early to support development and QA timelines
Create and review solution diagrams (sequence diagrams, flow diagrams) for integration scenarios
Review and interpret Swagger/OpenAPI documentation to guide implementation and determine scope
Define integration requirements for new services and direct implementation partners on fields and logic
Facilitate cross-functional calls to review implementations with architects and stakeholders
Provide guidance to development teams on unexpected values (nulls, errors) and handling strategies
Ensure compliance with integration guardrails and implementation models

Required

Strong API integration experience
Inquisitive and detail-oriented mindset

Proficiency in reading and interpreting Swagger/OpenAPI specifications
Familiarity with JSON, data types, and regular expressions (Regex)
Experience testing APIs in staging environments and validating responses
Basic understanding of permissions/roles within API ecosystems
Ability to develop or manage solution/sequence/flow diagrams using tools like Lucidchart or Visio
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering
5+ years of technology-related experience

Preferred

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to anticipate integration challenges and design user-friendly error handling
Strong documentation and communication skills to translate technical details into implementation guidance
Experience in enterprise-scale environments, ideally within hospitality, travel, or service sectors
Familiarity with Agile practices and tools such as JIRA and Confluence
Ability to analyze bugs and scenarios, provide technical solutions, and troubleshoot issues
Understanding of data flow between upstream and downstream systems
Experience with SQL queries, containers, and running scripts in cloud environments
Knowledge of performance testing and code review processes
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
