Corporate Counsel

ASRC Industrial provides industrial construction, environmental engineering, and remediation services throughout the United States. The Corporate Counsel will assist the Legal Department with drafting claims, contract analysis, negotiation, and managing construction and employment disputes.

Responsibilities

Work with the Assistant General Counsel and General Counsel to manage construction and employment disputes
Assist with accident investigations, witness interviews, legal research, and draft briefs and claims as needed when disputes arise
Analyze and review large project files and develop plans to recover monies owed to various AIS, and its Operating Companies
Perform various tasks related to ongoing projects on an as-needed basis
Learn and apply complex contract review processes and perform detailed legal analysis
Work quickly, efficiently, and accurately to review federal, public, and private construction contracts; make red lines as needed; and draft communications to AIS, and its Operating Companies explaining proposed revisions
Manage relationships with more than thirty (30) AIS, and its Operating Companies across the United States by providing timely contract analysis and legal advice while balancing AIS risk tolerances and ensuring the overall contract process remains efficient
Participate in and lead meetings with opposing parties to explain proposed changes and negotiate mutually agreeable contract terms

Required

Attorney with a minimum of 2-4 years of experience
Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state (or able to become licensed within the next 12 months) and eligible to register as in-house counsel in the State of Arizona
Strong analytical and writing skills, with the ability to perform complex contract analysis and provide legal advice while establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with AIS Operating Company leaders
Experience drafting construction claims and/or requests for equitable adjustment is required
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Team player who can work independently, take direction, collaborate to fill gaps, and demonstrate reliability
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
