Assistant Vice President for Workforce Development (Internal Only)
Salt Lake Community College is Utah’s largest open-access college, and they are seeking an Assistant Vice President for Workforce Development. The role involves providing vision, innovation, and leadership in workforce training and education, managing staff and programs, and cultivating industry relationships to support educational initiatives.

Responsibilities
Providing vision, innovation, and leadership in the planning, development, identification of modality, and implementation of new courses, programs and certificates for non-credit and credit offerings
Managing non-credit and special credit offerings, including but not limited to conducting program evaluation and facilitating non-credit to credit transfer
Managing and supervising Workforce Training staff, budget and operations, including revenue generation and development cost recovery
Cultivating and managing relationships with industry, including but not limited to Program Advisory Committees, content reviewers, curriculum developers, business partners
Pursuing, securing and administering external funding opportunities to support the program initiatives
Providing assistance to the Vice President in daily operations, academic/program administration and, staff supervision within Division, as delegated
Qualification
Required
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States
All employees are expected to maintain a permanent residence within the State of Utah as a condition of employment. New employees must provide a valid Utah residential address within 30 days of their start date
Master's degree required from an accredited institution in a related area
Five (5) years of demonstrated progressive leadership responsibility in one or more of the following areas: workforce training, adult/continuing education, workforce or management experience in business/industry at an institution of higher education
Innovative, collaborative, and flexible management style
Ability to work in a team setting
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to address faculty/trainer, staff, and student issues in a positive manner
Ability to meet deadlines
Integrity, and high ethical standards, and an ability to engender trust
Ability to manage the department or division in compliance with College policies, procedures, guidelines, and direction
Strategic and entrepreneurial leadership
Program management (e. g. planning, development, budgeting, etc.)
Personnel management, including employee development, training, scheduling, etc
Establishing, maintaining, and building upon industry-specific relationships with business, program, and community leaders
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College
Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities
Preferred
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in a related area
Eight (8) years of demonstrated progressive leadership responsibility in one or more of the following areas: workforce training, adult/continuing education, workforce or management experience in business/industry at a Community College
