Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

Perform day-to-day general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities
Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including review, reconciliation, and issue resolution
Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP and company policies
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Support audits, tax filings, and other compliance-related activities as needed
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams in a fully remote environment
Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting processes and internal controls for a growing organization
Performs other related duties as assigned

Required

Working knowledge of general accounting / finance body of knowledge, including General Accounting Principles required
Working knowledge of relevant local, state and federal laws required
General knowledge of GAAP
Skilled using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
Ability to work successfully in a remote environment thru effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction free workspace
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing technical and non-technical information
Ability to analyze complex, identify problems, evaluate alternatives and implement effective solutions
Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files and reports
Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision
Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
Must possess strong ability to function independently and collaboratively with co-workers
Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required

Preferred

2–5 years of relevant accounting experience preferred
Experience in a professional services firm is a plus
Experience working in a remote environment is preferred
