5+ years expTharseo IT is seeking an experienced Data Conversion Lead to support a large-scale Tax System Modernization Program. This role is critical in ensuring accurate, complete, and high-quality data migration from legacy systems into a modern COTS platform.

Responsibilities
Lead and manage the overall data conversion strategy aligned with release timelines
Validate converted data for accuracy, completeness, and usability within the COTS system
Collaborate with architects, DBAs, vendors, and SMEs on data design and migration activities
Oversee ETL design, trial conversions, mock loads, and production cutovers
Identify, track, and resolve data defects across environments
Lead legacy data analysis, cleanup, and remediation efforts
Maintain data mapping documents, data dictionaries, quality reports, and audit artifacts
Support UAT and training environments with production-like converted data
Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and mitigation plans to leadership
Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and retention standards
Lead cross-functional teams and working sessions across business and technical groups
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in data conversion and legacy-to-modern system migrations (including mainframe)
Strong understanding of data governance models, data ownership, and PMO alignment
Hands-on expertise with Oracle, SQL Server, and Erwin Data Modeler
Experience with data reconciliation, validation, and iterative conversion testing
Proven ability to identify and remediate data quality issues
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred
Knowledge of government tax/revenue systems and modernization challenges
