Responsibilities

Strong administrative skills with complimentary equipment maintenance experience. Ability to apply fleet maintenance experience to clear, concise, and technically accurate Maintenance Requirement Cards
Background and experience in dealing with U.S. Navy Fleet and Shore Activities regarding the maintenance and repair of shipboard and shore-based equipment systems, commodity classes, and subsystems to include: an understanding of U.S. Navy organization levels and ship and submarine maintenance and repair policy, procedures, and practices; familiarity with basic technical and administrative policies, procedures, and practices associated with the Navy Maintenance and Material Management (3-M) System and the Planned Maintenance System (PMS)
Knowledge of engineering and scientific principles and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical manuals as they pertain to the maintenance and repair of shipboard and shore-based Navy equipment systems, commodity classes, and subsystems
Ability to communicate orally, and in writing with a variety of internal personnel and numerous contractors and representatives of other organizations on wide-ranging, controversial, sensitive, and serious equipment problems for assigned complete equipment systems, commodity classes, or subsystems that may require broad corrective action
Computer literate with advanced digital literacy skills. Broad knowledge of how to use the machine to accomplish goals with the ability to use information and communication technologies to find, evaluate, create, and communicate information, requiring both cognitive and technical skills
Ability to independently research and problem-solve using digital technology
Experience with Microsoft Office applications
Experience using digital tools and software to facilitate collaboration
The ability to adapt very quickly to new technology
Understanding of shipboard auxiliary systems and how they interface
Equipment/System specific: Hydraulic Systems, Steering/Diving Systems, Valves, Valve Operators, Flex Hoses, Drainage and Ballasting Systems, Oxygen/Nitrogen Producers, Plumbing and Sanitary Pumps, Atmosphere control equipment, MBT Vent Valves, DDS equipment – Specifically, and understanding of the Scope of Certification (SOC) Program
Previous rating of MM, MMA or MMN
3MC, repair facility experience, squadron
E6 or above, qualified and experienced Senior In-Rate watch stander (COW/DOOW/ EOOW/ Duty Chief Petty Officer)
LPO and/or LCPO and WCS experience of 5+ yrs each
SKED experience
