Responsibilities
Client Accounting & Compliance (GovCon Specific) Perform full cycle accounting for GovCon clients, including journal entries, and month end close
Prepare, review, and maintain general ledger according to FAR Part 31
Familiar with indirect rate structures at a high level
Assist with preparation and updates to incurred cost submissions and project cost reporting
Support development and maintenance of project/job cost structures aligned to contract types (T&M, FFP, CPFF, etc.)
Ensure accounting processes and documentation comply with GAAP and FAR
Financial Reporting & Analysis Assist in preparing Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and KPI dashboards (e.g., revenue, labor utilization, indirect rates)
Ability to identify obvious variances and trends, and ability to review project status reports for inconsistencies
Assist senior staff in budgeting and forecasting, including revenue projections and indirect rate planning
Client Support & Communication Serve as a primary point of contact for day to day client requests
Assist senior team members in presenting findings and recommendations
Maintains detailed and accurate workpapers that support both internal review and external audit requirements
Process Improvement & Systems Support implementation and optimization of accounting systems and GovCon specific platforms (e.g., Unanet, Deltek Costpoint, QBO ecosystem)
Maintain up to date documentation on client workflows and procedures
Team Collaboration Assist with onboarding new clients and transitioning existing clients to new systems
Qualification
Required
2–3 years of accounting experience GovCon accounting
Hands on experience with GovCon accounting and understanding of FAR, DCAA compliance, indirect rates, and contract types
Technical proficiency in accounting systems (QBO, Unanet, Deltek)
Understanding of GAAP and full cycle accounting
Analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/CMA a plus but not required
