Technical Sales Manager

Responsibilities

Drive revenue growth by proactively identifying, qualifying, and pursuing project quote requests from phone, email, and website inquiries, and by developing new business opportunities in laboratory, research, university, pharmaceutical, and commercial markets
Take ownership of LabLink business segment performance and growth strategy, contributing to strategic decisions on pricing, market positioning, product development, and go-to-market initiatives
Generate qualified leads through targeted prospecting, networking, referrals, trade show participation, and marketing campaign follow-up
Build and maintain robust sales pipeline with consistent activity, and collaborate with channel partners and new customers to maximize market penetration
Develop and nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers including laboratory designers, architects, engineers, electrical distributors, contractors, and facility owners
Conduct regular face-to-face meetings and site visits with existing and prospective customers to strengthen relationships and uncover opportunities
Position yourself as a trusted advisor by understanding customer challenges and presenting LabLink solutions that address their specific needs
Manage existing accounts to ensure customer satisfaction, identify expansion opportunities, and drive repeat business
Review customer specifications, drawings, and project requirements to understand technical needs and recommend appropriate LabLink product solutions
Prepare accurate and competitive quotations that effectively communicate product specifications, applications, and value propositions
Engage in technical conversations with engineers, designers, and contractors about power distribution, connectivity systems, and raceway applications
Leverage internal engineering resources for complex technical challenges while maintaining ownership of customer relationship and sales process
Manage sold projects from order placement through delivery and installation, ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded
Coordinate with internal operations, engineering, and production teams to ensure accurate order processing and on-time delivery
Track project milestones, delivery schedules, and installation timelines to proactively address potential issues
Conduct project reviews and follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for future business
Travel to customer locations for relationship building, technical discussions, and business development (25-30% travel)
Represent PG LifeLink at laboratory industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to generate leads and build brand awareness
Deliver product presentations and Lunch-and-Learn sessions to design firms, distributors, and customer organizations
Monitor competitive landscape, industry trends, and customer feedback; communicate market insights to internal teams
Identify new business opportunities to expand product portfolio with Laboratory environment and other customer segments in collaboration with the Vice President of Business Development and Engineering
Contribute to strategic planning and management of LabLink segment, leveraging market intelligence to inform business decisions and drive segment profitability
Maintain accurate and complete CRM documentation of all customer interactions, quotations, and opportunities

Required

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred; relevant industry experience and proven sales success strongly considered
5+ years B2B sales experience selling industrial, technical, or electrical equipment/systems with demonstrated ability to speak intelligently about technical specifications, applications, and industry requirements
Experience managing and growing $2M+ in annual sales revenue with demonstrated ability to forecast, plan, and execute complex sales cycles at this volume
Proven track record consistently achieving/exceeding sales quotas in technical sales environment; success in both inside and outside sales
Working knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, or industrial/construction products; ability to read/understand specifications and technical drawings
Strong prospecting, consultative selling, negotiation, and closing skills; experience with territory planning, pipeline management, and revenue forecasting
Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite; CAD experience (AutoCAD, Revit) a plus but not required
Self-motivated, results-oriented with high energy and competitive drive; strong work ethic, high integrity, and professional demeanor
