Responsibilities
Lead construction and oversight of externally managed public equity and core fixed income portfolios
Assess whether current strategies and allocations remain optimized for performance and aligned with objectives
Collaborate with Asset Allocation and Strategy teams to identify focus areas for strategy selection and manager due diligence
Analyze key drivers of excess return, factor exposures, style positioning, credit, duration, and portfolio risk
Lead the full lifecycle of external manager reviews—including research, underwriting, due diligence, selection, and ongoing monitoring
Maintain strong relationships with new and existing investment management partners across global geographies and styles
Conduct regular portfolio review meetings to assess performance, risk, positioning, and outlook
Drive allocation and reallocation recommendations to optimize long‑term outcomes
Take full ownership of performance, risk oversight, and attribution for assigned mandates
Partner with analytics, risk, and quant teams to refine reporting, exposures monitoring, and attribution tools
Provide insights to senior leadership explaining performance results, risk trends, and market contributors
Work closely with senior portfolio managers, CIO, and investment leadership on asset allocation initiatives, market research, and special projects
Integrate insights from external managers into broader portfolio discussions and total portfolio construction
Collaborate with internally managed portfolio leaders on initiatives that intersect public equities and fixed income
Lead and develop a small team of generalists and specialists supporting public market mandates
Mentor junior and mid‑level staff and contribute to broader talent development programs
Support recruiting, onboarding, and development of high‑potential investment talent
Partner with investment operations, tax, legal, accounting, and other internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution
Oversee documentation, governance, reporting, and compliance related to external mandates
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
11–15 years of experience in institutional investments, asset management, or financial markets
Deep expertise in public equities, core fixed income, portfolio construction, and global market analysis
Extensive experience working with external managers across styles, regions, and strategies
Strong understanding of multi‑asset principles and total portfolio construction
Mastery of Bloomberg, FactSet, and related investment analytics tools
Strong quantitative, analytical, and attribution analysis skills
Ability to interpret complex market data and translate insights into portfolio actions
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills
Experience partnering with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams
Strong judgment, problem‑solving, conflict‑resolution, and negotiation skills
Proven people‑management skills with a collaborative leadership style
Ability to blend strategic thinking with hands‑on tactical execution
Preferred
MBA, CFA, CAIA, or an advanced degree in finance, economics, or quantitative disciplines is highly preferred
