Responsibilities

Observing the functions and processes of General Surgery Residency Simulation group
Completing all internship-related assignments and reports for both Mayo and the participating educational facility
Integrating medical knowledge and surgical skills into facilitating General Surgery Residency Simulation activities for the benefit of medical students and general surgery residents
Joining in general surgery residency education research projects that may continue into research achievements and mentorship relationships even after completion of the internship
Observing/shadowing surgeons in various surgical specialties in the clinic, hospital, emergency department and operating rooms

Required

The incumbent must be enrolled in a degree program from a college or university
Typically, this internship would occur after the student has taken most of the courses required by the degree program
The degree program must require an internship as a graduation requirement (or offer as a credit option)
