Commercial Insurance Underwriter

The Commercial Insurance Underwriter will assess and evaluate insurance risks, analyze applications, and develop relationships with brokers while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Responsibilities
Assess and evaluate insurance risks for clients
Analyze applications and supporting documentation
Determine appropriate coverage and pricing
Develop relationships with brokers
Review underwriting guidelines
Negotiate terms
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards
Qualification
Required
Expertise in Risk Assessment, Insurance Analysis, and Underwriting Practices
Knowledge of Policy Development, Coverage Evaluation, and Contractual Agreements
Strong Communication, Negotiation, and Client Relationship Building Skills
Attention to Detail, Analytical Thinking, and Decision-Making Abilities
Proficiency with Insurance Software and Technology Tools
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field
Strong knowledge of property, casualty, and specialty insurance products
Preferred
Prior experience in a commercial insurance underwriting capacity is preferred
Licensing or professional designations (e.g., CPCU, ARM) are a plus
Team collaboration mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
