Responsibilities
Own and manage the full Salesforce release lifecycle across sandboxes and production (feature branches → UAT → production)
Implement and enforce source-driven development using Git (branching strategies, PR validation, merge gates)
Build and maintain SFDX-based pipelines for metadata and unlocked package deployments (retrieve, convert, deploy)
Manage org shape strategies including scratch orgs, data seeding, and dependency management
Enforce compliance requirements such as change controls, audit trails, approvals, segregation of duties, and rollback plans
Design, build, and maintain robust Harness pipelines for Salesforce and related services
Configure pipeline triggers, approvals, multi-stage promotions, and deployment strategies (canary/blue-green where applicable)
Integrate secrets management, artifact repositories, quality gates, and monitoring/alerting solutions
Develop reliable Bash/Shell scripts for pipeline automation, pre/post-deployment checks, validations, and log processing
Automate static code analysis, unit testing, and packaging (PMD, ESLint, Jest, Apex tests)
Create reusable runbooks and self-service automation to enable engineering teams
Implement and enforce quality gates (code coverage thresholds, linting policies, SAST/DAST where applicable)
Monitor pipeline health metrics including MTTR, change failure rate, and deployment frequency
Drive continuous improvement through data-driven insights and collaboration
Work closely with architects, developers, QA teams, and release managers to remove bottlenecks and accelerate delivery
Qualification
Required
3–5+ years of experience in DevOps or Release Engineering, preferably with Salesforce-focused pipelines
Strong hands-on experience with Salesforce CLI (SFDX), Metadata API, and unlocked/package-based deployments
Proven experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines in Harness (or equivalent tools) with multi-stage promotions
Advanced Shell/Bash scripting skills with solid Linux fundamentals (error handling, idempotency, logging)
Strong Git expertise including branching strategies, PR workflows, merge checks, and conflict resolution
Experience with code quality and testing tools (PMD, ESLint, Prettier, Jest, Apex tests)
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across pipelines, deployments, and environments
Preferred
Experience with Salesforce DevOps tools such as Gearset, Copado, Flosum, or CI tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps integrated with Harness
Working knowledge of Apex, LWC, Aura, and Salesforce metadata complexities (profiles, FLS, permission sets)
Experience with Salesforce data seeding and masking strategies for sandbox environments
Cloud exposure: Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP; container basics (Docker/Kubernetes) are a plus
Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks (SOX, PCI) and audit evidence automation
Relevant certifications such as Salesforce Platform Developer I/II, Administrator, DevOps Center, Harness certifications, AZ-900, or equivalent
