Responsibilities
Responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and support of products/applications, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security
Support environment configurations for various applications/products and install, enable and/or upgrade new vendor releases and other software needed to support the application platform(s)
Assist in the resolution of Tier 3 operational support issues, playing a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of UCLA's technology offerings
Support user and application security setup including account setup and permission sets
Qualification
Required
Three years Experience working in one or more of the following fields: application administration, database administration, data services, or a related field
Thorough experience with common programming tools. Demonstrated ability to follow software specifications. Experience with planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms
Skills associated with software design, modification, implementation and deployment, including object-oriented programming concepts
Demonstrated ability to understand functional needs and how systems can support those needs. Demonstrated ability to develop conversion and system implementation plans
Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, or Similar. Expertise in PowerShell or other scripting languages
Demonstrated software repository skills. Demonstrated testing and test planning skills. Familiarity with one or more of the following tools: Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack, and Zoom
Strong written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate technical information and ideas to a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders
Able to establish and advance positive working relationships and a strong rapport with team members, stakeholders, and customers
Strong organizational skills and is able to balance competing priorities and support concurrent projects. Ability to work in a project-based environment using project management practices
Strong demonstrated problem-solving skills; scopes solutions based on knowledge of available resources and timelines. Able to ask questions, gather information, evaluate options, and make decisions with integrity
Able to participate in activities to advance an inclusive environment that values equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging
Thinks creatively and proposes innovative ideas, including the incorporation of new technologies or processes. Is able to work with agility in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor's Degree Information technology, computer science, public administration, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of training/experience
Preferred
Five or more years Experience working in one or more of the following fields: application administration, database administration, data services
Experience in complex higher education environments, serving academic and administrative functions of a large public university
Bachelor's Degree Information technology, computer science, public administration, business administration
