Responsibilities

Responsible for developing and executing the annual Development & Marketing Plan in coordination with the Development team to achieve organizational revenue goals
Responsible for the development, cultivation, and implementation of all fundraising initiatives
Responsible for the annual giving program, including annual mailings and fundraising drives in coordination with the Development Team
Responsible for the development and management of relationships with corporate donors, private foundations, and faith-based organizations in coordination with the Development Team
Responsible for developing and executing the Planned Giving Program
Responsible for developing and executing the Corporate Sponsorship strategy
Responsible for overseeing the Fundraising Budget in coordination with the Director of HR & Finance, using QuickBooks and other systems and programs
Conduct 6-8 in-person donor and prospect meetings a month, with a special emphasis on major donors, where the relationship is moving toward a larger giving amount and deeper engagement with Gennesaret, including identifying and securing planned gifts
Manage a portfolio of the top 100-150 donors and prospects across all revenue sources – corporate, individual, and foundation donors – with emphasis on securing gifts of $7,500 or more
Designate the donors who need to be cultivated by the Fundraising Coordinator, the Board, and the Executive Director. Oversee the process and strategy implementation for those specified donors
Responsible for keeping the donor database up-to-date following all donor interactions
Responsible for all donor communication, including direct mail, newsletters, email, and social media, in collaboration with the Development Team
Responsible for tracking fundraising progress against goals
Responsible for regular reporting to the Executive Director and Board of Directors
Responsible for donor acknowledgment and stewardship process in coordination with the Development Team
Responsible for annual updates of Gift Acceptance and other development policies
Responsible for developing and overseeing GFC’s social media strategy in coordination with the Marketing Coordinator (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and TikTok)
Responsible for oversight and coordination of earned media opportunities and press releases in coordination with the Marketing Coordinator and the Executive Director
In coordination with the Marketing Coordinator, develop and manage the organization’s marketing budget
Responsible for the planning and implementation of donor cultivation and stewardship events, including the organization’s annual fundraising event
Manage and coordinate sponsorship process for events and with corporate sponsors
Represent Gennesaret Free Clinics, Inc. at designated functions as required
Responsible for creating and executing a grant strategy that will meet the needs of the organization in coordination with the Director of Human Resources & Finance, as outlined in the strategic plan
Responsible for identifying new grant opportunities and stewarding relationships with current grantors in support of organizational programming and the strategic plan
Responsible for building relationships with organizations that can become future grant funders
Scan for additional grant opportunities in support of organizational programming
The Director of Development is responsible for managing the Development Team professionally and respectfully to ensure each member of the team is working to his/her highest potential. This includes, but is not limited to, weekly/bi-weekly one-on-ones with each team member, providing informal and formal feedback and coaching, and using progressive discipline as needed following all procedures in the GFC Employee Handbook
Provide regular reports to the Executive Director for development transparency and goal tracking
Serve as the staff liaison to the Board of Directors Development and Marketing Committee
Adhere to the Association of Fundraising Professionals Code of Ethical Principles and Donor Bill of Rights
Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Required

Master's Degree and/or CFRE preferred
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Philanthropy, Nonprofit Management, Marketing, Business)
Proven experience in fundraising, marketing, and donor relations, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Proficiency in fundraising software and CRM systems
Knowledge of nonprofit best practices and ethical standards
Excitement and passion about working in support of providing medical services to the underserved
Commitment to the mission of Gennesaret Free Clinics
Elevated awareness of issues of social equity and social justice with a commitment to continued learning as it relates to serving and elevating diverse communities in a manner that is respectful and aware
