Responsibilities
Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors at a shelter location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities
Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior and exterior areas, including common spaces, entrances, perimeter, and parking areas as applicable
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, documenting observations, and notifying site leadership and/or emergency services when needed
Control access to the facility by monitoring entry points, checking identification when required, managing visitor logs, and assisting with orderly movement through the location
Complete routine reports, incident documentation, and shift handoffs, and communicate unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and policy issues to appropriate personnel
Qualification
Required
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws

Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
