Public Health Program Specialist I

NEOGOV is a part of the Mississippi State Department of Health, which aims to protect and advance the health and safety of Mississippians. The Public Health Program Specialist I will guide providers through the enrollment process into the VFC Program and assist with accessing immunization records, while supporting the agency's mission.

Responsibilities

Guide providers within an assigned region of the state through the enrollment process into the VFC Program
Enroll providers new to the program, complete annual recertifications and miscellaneous information updates of already enrolled providers
Use customer service skills to develop a good working relationship with providers and Immunization Field Team
On-board users of the Mississippi Immunization Information eXchange (MIIX) system, including resetting passwords
Assist parents, guardians, and patients with accessing their immunization records on MyIR Mobile, to include troubleshooting issues and making corrections to patient records, as appropriate
Other duties may be assigned as required by emerging public health threats involving vaccine preventable disease, or other activities required to support the Office of Immunization

HIPAA knowledgeMicrosoft Office SuiteSoftware adaptabilityPublic health knowledgeCustomer service

Required

Familiarity with HIPAA and Privacy Laws to include understanding practical application in day-to-day operations
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Office, Word, Excel, and Teams)
Excellent customer service skills
Experience with other softwares and the ability to learn new systems
Individual who is excited to support the Agency Mission to protect and advance the health, well-being and safety of everyone in Mississippi
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 0-2 years of experience

Preferred

A bachelor's degree and 0-2 years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Office, Word, Excel, and Teams)
Administrative and/or Customer Service experience
