This role focuses on evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of IT controls, strengthening control execution, and identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation.

Responsibilities
Evaluate the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the IT SOX compliance program
Identify practical improvement opportunities to strengthen controls and increase automation
Develop, maintain, and update ITGC, application, and SDLC control narratives
Ensure documentation accurately reflects current control design and operating procedures
Partner with stakeholders to validate narratives and remediate documentation gaps
Assess new and existing applications (including third-party solutions) for SOX relevance
Perform risk assessments and scoping determinations
Recommend control requirements and remediation actions to ensure ICFR compliance
Assist control owners with SOC1 report reviews
Evaluate adequacy of third-party controls and SOX impact
Document findings and recommend remediation for identified gaps
Execute operational effectiveness testing of IT controls
Track, validate, and close remediation efforts
Advise management on appropriate corrective actions
Provide regular SOX status updates to management
Represent IT in discussions with internal and external auditors
Drive compliance efficiency through operational improvements
Train and mentor IT control owners on evidence quality and consistency
Partner with security, infrastructure, and application teams to integrate controls into IT processes
Qualification
Required
10+ years supporting enterprise IT SOX programs (Fortune 500 environments)
Strong understanding of SOX, ITGCs, and control frameworks
Hands-on experience: Authoring control narratives
Hands-on experience: Performing SOX risk assessments
Hands-on experience: Testing IT controls
Hands-on experience: Reviewing and dispositioning SOC1 reports
Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
