Responsibilities
Manage, direct, and supervise a staff of subordinate inspectors
Ensure that all applicable safety regulations are adhered to by all SHA employees, contractor personnel and visitors to the project
Act as the primary source of technical advice for this project staff, providing guidance, technical assistance, directions and solutions to construction and engineering problems
Administer all required conferences and meetings such as pre-paving, pre-concrete placement, pre-steel setting, erosion and sediment control, and monthly job progress
Review the contract drawings and documents daily, for completeness and accuracy, identifying, resolving or referring all discrepancies
Evaluate the capabilities and dependability of the project staff to ensure competent and thorough inspection of all aspects of the construction project
Direct and monitor the complete and accurate documentation of the construction, ensure that all files are current, and all progress estimates are accurate
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate
Three (3) years of experience in technical engineering related work in the areas of design, traffic, construction, materials testing, engineering surveys, maintenance, or planning
Candidate must possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the state of Maryland
The selected candidate will be required to pass the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Certifications (Soils, Concrete and Hot Mix Asphalt must be obtained within the probationary period)
