Audio Visual IT Technician

Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) is seeking an Audio Visual IT Technician for Volunteer State Community College. This position is responsible for managing audio-visual devices and IT needs to ensure smooth workflow, including troubleshooting and repairing IT-related issues as necessary.

Responsibilities

Install, relocate, maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot, and repair a broad range of networked and non-networked client hardware devices and software applications
Build, maintain, and deploy projectors, tablets, desktops, and laptops
Responsible for maintaining accurate hardware and software inventories
Research and evaluate software packages & operating systems on relevant AV and IT devices
Modify applications to disable certain potentially dangerous features
Respond to emergency situations as needed
Administer computer labs and web conferencing software
Able to work with minimal supervision and make decisions within college policies and guidelines
Able to occasionally work weekends or unusual hours
Able to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users
Evaluate and recommend various hardware devices and software applications for compatibility with existing college hardware, software, network platforms, and AV devices
Other duties as assigned

Required

Associate's degree in a computer-related discipline OR a High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of client support in an Active Directory environment
Proficient with Microsoft applications
Basic knowledge of networking, Active Directory and server principles
Ability to diagnose AV and computer related problems by utilizing industry best practices, troubleshooting techniques, analytical skills and vendor support
Candidates must enjoy working in a team environment supporting a varied constituency and possess a solid working knowledge of technologies used in a classroom, lab, and meeting space environment in higher education
Good problem solving, organization, and communication skills
Ability to learn new technology skills quickly
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance and up to 100-150 lbs. with assistance and proper equipment

Preferred

Microsoft and/or Apple certifications
Experience with System Center Configuration Manager (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager), Intune, or similar deployment technologies
Experience with Macintosh OSX
Exposure to Crestron, Kramer, and/or Extron Audio Visual hardware
Exposure to basic computer troubleshooting
CompTIA A+
Experience with PowerShell
