Automation Engineer
MaximaTek partners with top-tier companies in the life sciences and manufacturing sectors, and they are seeking a motivated Automation Engineer to design, develop, and optimize control systems for medical device manufacturing. The role involves ensuring automated systems operate reliably and comply with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
System Development: Design and implement control logic for PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) , HMIs, and SCADA systems used in regulated environments
Hardware Integration: Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate robotics, sensors, actuators, and motor drives into cohesive automated lines
Testing & Debugging: Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot system-level issues, ensuring real-time performance and minimal downtime
Lifecycle Documentation: Author technical specifications and validation protocols ( IQ/OQ/PQ ) to ensure automated systems meet GxP and cGMP requirements
Risk Management: Conduct functional risk assessments (FMEA) and system audits to identify and mitigate critical-to-quality (CTQ) failures in the production line
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field
0–5 years of experience in automation, robotics, or academic projects involving control systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Beckhoff)
Proficiency in PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Structured Text) or C/C++
Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profinet)
Familiarity with the V-Model and GAMP 5 frameworks for system development
Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11 regarding electronic records and signatures
Preferred
Experience with Vision Systems (Cognex, Keyence) or robotic integration (FANUC, KUKA)
Familiarity with LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink, or Python for data acquisition and testing
Knowledge of IoT integration and Industry 4.0 standards
