Responsibilities
Support supplier quality engineering and supplier development initiatives across new and existing programs
Evaluate supplier quality management systems and drive continuous improvement in incoming material performance
Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Quality to assess supplier capability and risk
Work directly with suppliers to ensure compliance to technical and quality requirements, including risk assessments and corrective actions
Review and approve First Article Inspection Reports and production readiness documentation for new and revised parts
Support structured quality planning activities such as APQP, including control plans, inspection requirements, process documentation, SPC, calibration, MSA, and PFMEA
Participate in material review and disposition activities related to nonconforming material
Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective action efforts with suppliers
Manage supplier deviation and waiver processes as needed
Conduct supplier audits and assessments in alignment with quality system requirements
Support internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives
Apply structured problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
Five to seven years of experience in quality engineering or supplier quality engineering
Experience supporting a range of manufacturing commodities such as machined components, electronics, raw materials, hardware, and special processes
Hands-on knowledge of common manufacturing processes including machining, castings and forgings, metal fabrication, stampings, injection molding, electronics, plating, and raw materials
Working experience with APQP, PPAP, control plans, process flow diagrams, DFMEA, and PFMEA
Knowledge of regulated quality system environments such as AS9100, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001
Experience conducting supplier audits, managing corrective actions, evaluating supplier performance, and assessing risk
