Structural Design Engineer - Entry Level / Associate

Responsibilities

Assist with documentation of structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design
Assist with development, maintenance and modification of payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle
Assist with tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
Assist with management of supplier development, test and production activities to optimize the design and achieve program goals
Work under close supervision
Assist to develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design
Develop, maintain and modify basic structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle
Perform tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specification
Assist with supplier development, test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals
Support investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements
Work under general supervision

Required

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
Level 2: 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
Experience using NX / Teamcenter and familiarity with reading 2-D drawings
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
