Responsibilities

Develop an efficient method for extracting essential event data from daily rail and bus operations logs
Identify necessary data fields in collaboration with subject matter experts and create a functional database to serve as the foundation for analyzing safety and security events, accidents, and service reliability issues
Apply analytical tools to database to assess and identify safety performance trends in fatalities, injuries, accident, and other events
Collaborate with subject matter experts to apply analytical techniques to establish leading and lagging indicators to monitor and determine the effectiveness of a safety risk mitigation

Required

Full-time enrollment status in a degree program at an accredited college or university
Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good analytical and critical thinking skills
Good organizational skills with attention to detail
Good project management skills
Knowledge in database management software (SQL, AWS technologies)
Ability to prepare and present comprehensive trend analysis reports, investigation findings, and mitigation recommendations
Knowledge of programming languages (python, R, etc.)

Preferred

Preferred Major(s): Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Urban Planning, Safety
Preferred Level of Education: College sophomore and above
