Director, Finance

The Director of Finance will manage the finance function, including accounting, financial planning, and treasury operations, while working closely with senior management to support the organization's growth.

Responsibilities

Manager and oversee improvements to CRS’s cost and financial accounting systems
Manage and drive improvements in financial operations - accounts payables and receivables, bank reconciliations, journal entries, payroll, etc
Coordinate all audit and tax/IRS Form 990 activities, including coordination of the CRS Board Audit Committee
Own and supervise the use of applications including ERP, expense and payment platforms, etc
Oversee, review and approve preparation and finalization of monthly and annual financial reporting materials and metrics for the Board of Directors and CEO
Oversee preparation of monthly budget reports for each program cost center
Work collaboratively with Program Directors to drive the financial portion of the annual 3-year planning process
In coordination with the CEO and program directors, oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow for the organization and each major program/expense area
With the CEO and consistent with Board policy, manage CRS’s financial reserves
Ensure timely cash inflows and outflows and monitor cash balances
Maintain relationships with banking and payment platform partners
Role includes supervision of one FTE as well as external contractors and consultants

Required

At least eight years of directly relevant professional experience, including managing the finances of a growing organization (preference given to nonprofit experience)
Experience creating and driving the analytic framework for planning and managing organizational change
Bachelor's degree (MA/MBA preferred) in Business, Management, Accounting or Finance
Experience in corporate/nonprofit accounting
Excellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team
Demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting
Experience with legal, audit, compliance, budget, and resource development
Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems
Proven effectiveness leading and managing finance and accounting professionals/contractors
Experience working collaboratively with leadership in HR, technology, legal and administrative organization functions
Technologically savvy, with an ability to point to examples of having worked with IT providers to develop and implement new processes and systems that increase efficiency and improve services
Flexible and a self-starter; able to multitask while also being highly detail-oriented
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to CRS's mission
